Your First Appointment
People come to therapy for many reasons and at various stages of growth and recovery. We are very mindful and respectful of this so will spend time getting to understand what’s brought you to therapy, your circumstances, and your goals or what you hope to be different. This ensures you receive support that is purposeful, comprehensive, and tailored to your needs, circumstances, preferences, and goals.
We will spend time genuinely listening to you, and will ask various questions along the way, but please know that it’s your decision if/when/how you choose to share information about yourself.
It’s not uncommon to have mixed feelings about coming to therapy or not be sure what you need from it or how it could help. Your first session is a great place to talk a bit more about this and is a great opportunity to make a more informed decision about how you choose to move forward.
